  Nathan is AMAZING, and the only reason this store is getting more than 1 star. He went out of his way to answer questions, and promptly take care of anything that needed to be. If everyone were like him it would be 5 stars. Sadly, not everyone is like him, and several times I have been disappointed with the other workers.
  
  My last run in the cashier was short with me. As 2 items ran through I mentioned they would not ring up for the right price. He quickly retorted that it had not totaled out yet. Cool, I get it....maybe you know more than me...maybe you don't. I had asked about the price on those items because they were "holiday items" that should have been 75% off. I had gone to another register earlier and had the cashier do a price check and discovered those items for some reason did not get the discount. Nathan had sorted it out after the price check. The cashier also did not give a discount for a coupon stuck on (by the store) one of the products I was buying. Nathan also took care of this, after it was suggested by another worker that I come back tomorrow when the managers were less busy.
  
  Not to mention the discussion on paper vs. plastic that was had. When asked if I wanted paper or plastic I said paper. The cashier rolled his eyes and sighed. I apologized for making him work more, and commented something about the environment. This turned into a spheel from him about how plastic bags are more recyclable than paper, and therefore better for the environment. It ended with me commenting that paper was better for soaking up bacon grease anyways.
  
  I'm sorry....I did not go to the store to be hassled about my paper vs. plastic choices. I knew one item was going to ring up incorrectly, and he did not do his job on another item and give the discount that was supposed to be given (there was also a discussion on how maybe my item didn't qualify with one of the other employees, but upon quick inspection the item did qualify, which I had actually checked before purchasing). Overall, a lousy experience and not my first one.
  
  Just as a side note, my other memorably bad experience involved wanting soup, which they had in the store, but was not stocked. The worker who was stocking that department told me to come back later because it was under several boxes of milk. Mentioned it to a manager, and within a few minutes had the soup in hand that I wanted.

  I usually do not shop at Safeway because it's too expensive, except when they have really good deals advertised or good coupons. However, I don't plan on shopping at Safeway anymore because I am so tired of going in there for advertised items that they are out of. And the reason it is so irritating to me is because I shop once a paycheck for everything I need and I make detailed grocery lists, and when I go in for specific items that they are out of it messes up my shopping for the whole pay period. This last time I went in there were five advertised items but they were out of totally unacceptable and instead of getting angry about it I guess I'll just do all my shopping at WinCo
